In class, yesterday, we talked about the American Revolution and the part that Native Americans played in it. A large name was Chief Pontiac, who was an Indian chief who gathered support from several other tribes. I believe this is related to the Arts of Democracy because most tribes hated one another, and he was able to keep the peace and work towards a common goal. The networking that Pontiac did with the different indian tribes is a form of building social capital, I believe. Also, he applied a public dialogue technique by getting everyone to talk about something that was important to all of them. They put aside their differences and worked together towards a common goal. I could easily apply this to several other Arts of Democracy, but I think two is sufficient.
